My camera has a “best shot” setting, and this one was “drops of water” or something similar. I think it turned out well.

This is a fountain from Place de la Grenette (correct me, someone) in Grenoble.

Reserved for prayer

When I stand inside a cathedral and think, “This place is a symbol of one man’s – or a hundred men’s – faith,” I am awed and humbled. Though I am not religious myself, I can certainly respect the devotion involved in creating such a masterpiece as Notre Dame Cathedral.

Stained glass Notre Dame

This chapel is reserved for prayer, but I appreciate its beauty even from my outsider’s perspective.

Saints

Malta is a very Catholic country. The Maltese cannot divorce. There are 365 churches. And on building after building, you’ll find statues of saints.

Statues at Mosta

Here is a statue that stands outside the Mosta Dome in Mosta, Malta. In 1942, a bomb fell directly on the Mosta Dome. People filled the church, as it was time for mass. The bomb came through the roof, hit the wall, and skidded across the floor – but didn’t explode. No one was hurt.
